3-Night Stay at The Salisbury YMCA Hong Kong: Honest Review & Tips

((( Recommended Hong Kong accommodation )))

My 3-night stay review ๐Ÿค˜

It’s located in Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon Peninsula, right near Harbour City and Victoria Harbour. The area is a total hotspot, always bustling with energy and people.

You can go there in one go by airport bus and it’s a 5-minute walk after getting off! There are two airport bus lines available.

The biggest advantage is that it’s close to the Star Ferry Pier. In 10 minutes on foot, you’re already on the boat.

Oh, and it’s also really close to the Hong Kong night view viewpoints. You can see it every night.

The Salisbury YMCA of Hong Kong - Standard Room 2 bed

The price will vary depending on high/low season, but I stayed for 3 nights for about $425. With the Standard Room 2-bed option.

There was no room upgrade and I was assigned the 8th floor. The max floor was either 14 or 16.

  • Check-in 15:00
  • Check-out 11:00

But they gave me an early check-in by about an hour. After checking out on the last day, I used their luggage storage to keep my bags until my flight, which let me explore comfortably. The staff members were very kind.

The feature is that they do not provide daily room cleaning. In principle, it’s once every 3 days, so since I stayed for 3 nights, I didn’t get a full cleaning. However, you can request fresh towels every day. The way to request is to press a specific number on the hotel phone, connect with a person, tell them your room number, and ask for towels. Some days they gave them immediately, and some days they left them in the room while I was out. They also emptied the trash cans.

If I had to mention a downside, the elevator efficiency is honestly pretty bad. There are almost 90 rooms on one floor, but there are only 2 elevators and you can’t even see what floor they’re on, so you just wait indefinitely… lol

Well, at most it’s 5 minutes, so let’s let this slide.

Oh, and of course, there’s no need to pay additional tips beyond the amount you paid when booking the hotel.

I didn’t get an accommodation on Hong Kong Island, but I think staying at The Salisbury YMCA of Hong Kong in Tsim Sha Tsui was a really good thing. The location is unbeatable (top-tier). Hope everyone refers to this when planning your Hong Kong trip.
